Sea Cadets Band Competition

On Sunday 30th June 2024, Cadets, volunteers and families from across the south coast came together at Farnham Sea Cadet unit to showcase their solo and display band skills. Bugle and Drummer Soloist categories learnt set piece to impress the Royal Marine Band Service Judges. The display band have the freedom to perform a musical and drill ensemble.

The VIP for the day was Lieutenant Colonel Sam Hibbs DL, who also presented three cadets with their King’s Coronation Medals.

The Cadets did extremely well with the top performers in each going forward to National Band in August.

Our thanks to all that made this possible and well done to all who took part!

Sea Cadets is different from school. There’s a lot of learning. But it’s done through activities – on the water and off the water – and our volunteers leading by example.

It’s also different from home, a break from screens and being cooped up inside. The platform we offer is built on the customs and traditions of the Royal Navy. It inspires our work and commitment to supporting young people today.
