The South East Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (SERFCA) Employer Engagement Team recently hosted their Partnering with Defence “Meet the Unit” and Business Networking event at Blighmont Army Reserve Centre.
Thank you to the fantastic Reservist and Cadet Force Adult Volunteer speakers who shared their experiences:
- Able Seaman John Gale (Logistics) HMS King Alfred
- Squadron Leader Shaun McCarthy, CCF (RAF) SE Staff Officer and Officer in Command, 613 (Alton) Squadron Royal Air Force Air Cadets
Thanks must also go to the local Units who attended to answer any questions the employers had and showcase their capabilities; HMS King Alfred, 457 Battery Royal Artillery, 266 Squadron (Southampton & IoW) 165 Port & Maritime Regiment Royal Logistics Corps, 679 Squadron 6 Regiment Army Air Corps and 25 Military Intelligence Company.
This event also provided the opportunity for not just one, but seven organisations to complete their formal signings of the Armed Forces Covenant!

The covenant represents a pledge to support the Armed Forces community, recognising their contribution to the nation and ensuring fair treatment for service personnel, veterans, and their families. Their decision to sign the Covenant underscores their commitment to fostering meaningful connections with the Armed Forces and supporting those who serve.
With thanks to Lieutenant Colonel Tim Petransky, SO1 Engagement, Headquarters South East for countersigning the Covenants.
