Tribute to Major Tony Panayi

It is with the greatest of sorrow that we report that Tony Panayi died suddenly on the 24th March.

Tony commenced his service with 2nd Battalion The Queen’s Regiment serving with C Coy.  On the formation of the Regiment in 1992 he moved to B Coy 2 PWRR (where he served alongside the Colonel of the Regiment) eventually becoming CSM of the same Company.  He became RSM of 2 PWRR when Colonel Jon Wright was Commanding Officer.  After commissioning he served as RCMO, MTO and QM(T) of 2 PWRR before serving as QM 3 PWRR.

He then did a tremendous amount of good work as the Cadet Executive Officer (CEO) for Kent Army Cadet Force and also for us as an RFCA, once he retired from his long and most distinguished  career with his Regiment.

Tony was a much loved Regimental character who will be sorely missed by his friends and colleagues. Our thoughts are with them all at this time.

RHQ will post details of his funeral when they are known.
