The Ulysses Trust Sign Armed Forces Covenant on board HMS Victory

The Ulysses Trust conducted an Armed Forces Covenant signing on board HMS Victory by kind permission of the commanding officer, Lieutenant Commander Steve Cass. The covenant was signed on behalf of the Trust by Chief Executive Polly Marsh DL and by Second Sea Lord Sir Martin Connell, KCB CBE in the Great Cabin.

Polly Marsh DL comments: “It is a tremendous honour to sign the Armed Forces Covenant on behalf of The Ulysses Trust, reaffirming our unwavering commitment to supporting the reserves and cadets Forces. We are deeply grateful to SERFCA for arranging the signing to take place in the historic setting of HMS Victory—a deeply symbolic location. We are especially grateful to Vice Admiral Sir Martin Connell, Second Sea Lord, for co-signing the Covenant and for his distinguished support. Our sincere thanks also go to the Commanding Officer of HMS Victory for hosting us so graciously, and to Andrew Gibbs and Mark Siebenaller (a trustee for The Ulysses Trust) from South East RFCA for organising such a memorable and meaningful occasion”.

The Trust provides funding assistance to challenging expeditions and adventurous activities involving members of the Volunteer Reserve Forces and Cadet Forces of the UK.

Founded in 1992, the charity has raised over £3.6M to support over 42,000 individuals to participate in over 3,030 expeditions – from sailing in the Solent and walking in the Brecon Beacons to climbing Everest and crossing the Antarctic.

The Trust’s funds come from a variety of sources: some of the benefactors, and details of how to make donations, are shown within the SUPPORT US section of their site.
