HMS Diamond Affiliation with the County of Oxfordshire

This week, the SERFCA Employer Engagement team were invited to attend the HMS Diamond affiliation with the Oxfordshire county. The event included the cutting of the cake by Lady Suzie Johns to commemorate 20 years of HMS Diamond and the signing of the affiliation with speeches by Commander Peter Evans, most recent Commanding Officer HMS Diamond, Cllr Liz Leffman, leader of Oxfordshire County Council and the Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire.

The event concluded with Colonel (Retd) Patrick Crowley talking about the impact of the Armed Forces Covenant and the Employer Recognition Scheme has with the community within Oxfordshire, and both Oxfordshire County Council and Diamond Light Source Ltd, as Gold Employer Recognition Scheme holders, re-signing their Armed Forces Covenants. Cllr Liz Leffman, Leader of the council, signed on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council and Professor Gianluigi Botton, Chief Executive Officer, signed on behalf of Diamond Light Source Ltd. On behalf of Ministry of Defence signing the Armed Forces Covenants were Commander Peter Evans, most recent Commanding Officer HMS Diamond, Lieutenant Colonel Ged Hennigan, Garrison Commander of Bicester Garrison and Squadron Leader Tobias Jones, Officer Commanding Station Support Squadron from RAF Benson.
