Over last weekend, the Commandant of Hampshire & Isle Wight Army Cadet Force was pleased to present a cheque for £6,500 to Scotty’s Little Soldiers, who for the last 12 months have been the Commandants Nominated Charity.
Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a military charity that provides support to bereaved children that have lost a parent while serving in the armed forces.
As well as the presentation of the cheque, Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) in the County that have helped contribute to raising money were able to speak to one of the charity’s organisers:
“When a parent dies, the impact on their child is significant. When that parent served in the Armed Forces, the impact is even greater with children often feeling they’ve lost their connection to the military community. Scotty’s Little Soldiers prevents that. Together, we can ensure the very best bereavement support remains available.”
A huge well done to all our CFAVs for raising money for the Commandants Charity this last year and to Scotty’s Little Soldiers for the amazing work they do.
