7 Rifles Take Army Reserve Shooting Title

Last weekend (21/22 June 2025) 8 members of the battalion competed against 17 teams from across the Army and after 10 matches, where they fired 5000 rounds, the team won the competition by just 3 hits. 

On top of the team win, SSgt Catt was also crowned individual champion and joins a very small group of soldiers who have won the coveted Kings Medal. SSgt Catt will be presented his medal by the King at Windsor Castle – an amazing achievement for truly talented shooter.

The win brings to an end a incredible season for team:

  • 20 Brigade Champions
  • 3 UK Division Champions
  • Army Reserve Team Champions
  • Army Reserve falling plate Champions
  • Army Reserve individual winner – Kings Medal
  • All members of the team placing in the top 50 winning an Army Reserve AR50 badge

7 RIFLES is the Reserve Infantry Battalion of The Rifles for London and the South East. Comprising of 500 Reservists from culturally diverse backgrounds and have bases in London, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Wiltshire. They offer a range of combat and combat service support roles, including the accomplished Waterloo Band and Bugles.
