A lot of teamwork and a little paint… with hopefully only a small amount on the volunteers!
The UK & Ireland team and one newest recruit (the little guy in front!) recently headed to the 11th Wolverton Detachment of the Army Cadets in Milton Keynes to lend a hand with some painting and decorating as part of their annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
It was a great opportunity for them to get away from the day job and put some of their real estate expertise into practice for a really worthwhile cause – helping refresh the facilities and create a better environment for the Cadets and the team who support them. This is an extension of ongoing support for the detachment over the years due to the commitment to the Army Covenant and family ties with Emma Gamblin, related to the Detachment Commander Csjt Gamblin and her daughter Sjt Gamblin, also a CFAV.
CSR events like this are about much more than a fresh coat of paint. They give the team a chance to make a tangible difference in their local communities, build relationships outside of their usual roles, and give something back to organisations doing important work.
A big thank you to everyone from the UK & Ireland team who got involved – proving once again they can turn their hands to pretty much anything when required!
And to the 11th Wolverton Detachment – we hope the newly refreshed space helps you have a fantastic training year ahead.
Andy Gamblin, Detachment Commander 11th (Wolverton) Platoon, Salamanca Company
