Waterloo Band & Bugles of the Rifles

The Waterloo Band of the Rifles is a Reserve Military Band.  We wear the same uniform, play the same type of music and get paid the same as our regular counterparts, but only part-time.  We fit the band commitment around our full-time jobs, at evenings and weekends.

The band’s regimental traditions date back as far as the Peninsular Wars, and include the use of the silver bugle (both played and worn) and a distinctly fast marching speed of 140 paces per minute.

The Waterloo Band and Bugles perform locally, across the UK and internationally, most recently at the Basel International Military Tattoo 2014.
We consist not only of a marching band, but a concert band and smaller ensembles too.

We are currently recruiting and would always welcome a visit from a wind player or percussionist of a good standard, or anybody who would be interested in learning the bugle.

We train every Tuesday from 19.45-21.45 plus one or two weekends a month.
